Seen our neon pink hats, posters for Breakfast Tacos, or socks around? How could you miss them?! All throughout the month of October, District Taco is supporting local, volunteer-run organization Living in Pink in a variety of ways to show our support for those affected by breast cancer. But who is Living in Pink? We’re glad you asked.
Inspired by founder Michele Conley, Living in Pink is a local organization who works to improve the lives of those living with breast cancer, celebrate the survivors and the individuals who fight the battle against breast cancer, and to help find a cure so that the next generation of women will not have to endure the emotional and physical pain of breast cancer surgery and treatment. Some ways they do this? Funding research, awareness, and support for survivors just to name a few.
Here at District Taco, Breast Cancer Awareness month is important to all of us for all kinds of reasons. We wanted to celebrate the fighters and warriors in our own lives who have fought the fight so courageously. With that we decided to team up with Living in Pink not only because we are inspired by their story and mission, but being a local DC organization, they are making progress right here in our own backyards. All month long, we are donating a portion of Breakfast Taco sales to Living in Pink, along with a portion of the sales from our pink Breast Cancer Awareness socks. Help us help Living in Pink and support Breast Cancer Awareness in any way you can! And don’t forget to let us know. #DTTacosforTatas and show us how you’re participating.
